The Rappahannock Area Health District will hold a drive-thru testing event on July 7 to test community members for the coronavirus.

Crews are combating a house fire at 83 Northhampton Boulevard in North Stafford.
A caller told 911 a car was on fire in his garage, and the 911 dispatcher told him to evacuate the house, according to initial reports. The occupants made it out safely.

Black Lives Matter protesters took to the Fredericksburg streets on July 1 to mark one month after they were teargassed in earlier protests.
Twice the city used teargas in early June, and the Stafford sheriff’s office also deployed teargas on protesters on Falmouth Bridge.
Travelers headed northbound on Interstate 95 will encounter major travel delays in the Fredericksburg area on Monday, July 13 through early Tuesday, July 14.
Lane closures are needed for 19 consecutive hours of milling, paving and lane striping to shift northbound traffic onto a new interstate overpass that spans Route 17 in Stafford County.

The water main break reported earlier in North Stafford that required water conservation has been repaired. Customers may return to normal usage. Water supplies are back to normal. Boater Alex Pirowski won the Phoenix Bass Fishing League Event by bringing a five-bass limit to the scale weighing 17 pounds 3 ounces. The event was held at the Potomac River on June 28.
As a reward for his victory, Pirowski earned $5,337. In addition, he also earned the $658 Boater Big Bass award with his biggest fish, a 6 pound 4 ouncer.
