Spike Cohen, the vice-presidential candidate for the Libertarian Party will be meeting with supporters on Friday in Manassas.

Cohen and his running mate, Dr. Jo Jorgenson, have been crossing the country rally support for their campaign. Cohen’s stop in Manassas begins a three-week bus tour across the country. The coronavirus and the nation’s response to the pandemic it sparked is a key campaign issue for the Libertarians.


Hispanics in Manassas, much like the rest of the U.S., have a high prevalence of coronavirus cases.

After partnering with the CDC to conduct a survey of potential coronavirus patients, Prince William Health District Director Dr. Alison Ansher told the Manassas City Council on July 27 that many city residents have been hit hard by the pandemic. 


As coronavirus case counts rise in Virginia, free coronavirus testing is being offered in Prince William County and Manassas.

The tests are free to anyone living within Prince William, Manassas, and Manassas City Regions, and are being conducted via test via drive-thru or walk-up. Those receiving a test must provide their full name, telephone number, and a home or work address to receive their results.

A woman driving under the influence was found having drugs in her possession which she intended on distributing with a child in the car, according to law enforcement officers in Stafford County.

Kyle Court/Hastings Drive, 8/8, 8:11 p.m. Sgt. Haney and Deputy Aubrecht responded to the area for a possible drunk driver. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Stephanie Hall, 42, of Stafford. Field sobriety tests were conducted and Hall was arrested for DUI. A search warrant for blood was executed. Deputies located suspected controlled substances in the vehicle. Hall was charged with DUI, driving after forfeiture of license, possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. She received an additional charge of child neglect since there was a juvenile in the car. Hall was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
