A massive search effort has revealed the body of a missing teenager from Manassas.

The body of Hasnain Ghafoor, 15, was found early this morning, near the Chatham Bridge over the Rappahannock River, which links Stafford County and Fredericksburg.

Republicans on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors worked late into the night to convince Democrats to vote against an asphalt plant that would be built on 22 acres of land next to the Blackburn residential neighborhood.

“Don’t support big business,” Brentsville District Supervisor Jeanine Lawson said. “The Democrats up here say they want to work with us, but they continue to shove these projects down our throats.”

The night before the first day of school is usually an exciting and sleepless one for me.

I’m pondering what I’m going to wear, what new friends I might make, and dreading or looking forward to the teachers I have. This virtual school year, however, didn’t give me that same feeling. In my mind, there wasn’t exactly anything to look forward too: I couldn’t interact with my classmates, I couldn’t have conversations with my favorite teachers, and I couldn’t have the often romanticized senior year everyone talks about. So I went to bed at a reasonable time, more filled with curiosity than anything else.

Stafford County residents will soon have the ability to explore the number of complaints of racism in Stafford County.

The county Board of Supervisors approved a new Diversity Advisory Coalition that, according to county administrator Fred Pressley, would have the authority to seek and review a number of complaints of alleged racism levied against businesses in the county. The complaints are currently on file at federal and state offices in Washington, D.C., and Richmond, respectively, said Pressley.

Searchers will continue their search for the missing 15-year-old until sunset. They’ll return tomorrow to begin the search again, said Stafford sheriff’s Maj. Shawn Kimmitz.
