A suspect in custody following a barricade situation that occurred about noon today.
Commuters near Manassas and Manassas Park will see a new ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 East open on Friday, September 25. The new ramp is part of several improvements of roadway via the Transform 66 Outside The Beltway Project.
Drivers on Route 28 South will stay to the right to access I-66 East using the new ramp, located prior to the traffic signal and two left-turn lanes that drivers currently use. The new ramp is one of several major traffic pattern changes happening this year in the I-66 and Route 28 Interchange area as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Occoquan will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, September 23, for the developer to discuss updated plans for the Mill at Occoquan.
The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at Occoquan Town Hall, located at 314 Mill Street.

Police on Saturday, September 19 arrested a suspect sought in connection to a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence in Woodbridge.
On September 17 at 12:36 p.m., officers learned the victim, a 17-year-old female, told police that earlier that morning she awoke to an acquaintance standing over her. The accused refused to leave the residence and began inappropriately touching the victim, police said.
A suspect wanted in Pennsylvania was arrested after providing false identification during a traffic accident investigation on Sunday.
On September 20, Deputy S.C. Martin was called to an auto accident on Jefferson Davis Highway near Woodstock Lane near Taylor’s Grocery.
