Bullets fly in Woodbridge

From Prince William police: On October 12 at 8:29PM, officers responded to the 1400 block of Cottonwood Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed that two groups of individuals were near the above area when gunfire was exchanged. Some of the individuals from one of the groups ran to a nearby residence and contacted the police, while other individuals fled in a light-colored vehicle prior to police arriving in the area. No injuries were reported. While canvassing officers located two unoccupied vehicles that sustained damage consistent with being struck by projectiles. This incident does not appear random. The investigation continues.

Sentara has launched a new public dashboard that tracks the number of confirmed COVID-19 patients by hospital location.

This tool is to help the public understand trends of COVID-19 hospitalizations in your community. The data is updated daily, Monday – Friday. Data from these dashboards can help showcase current hospitalization trends among COVID-19 patients, and the percent of COVID-19 patients out of the total number of hospitalized inpatients.


Those who are behind on their water bills are encouraged to get on a payment plan.

The Prince William County Service Authority says it’s willing to set up payment plans for more than 4,100 customers who are behind on their bills, or about four percent of the utilities’ customers. The payment plans are being offered from hose who 60 days or more behind on their accounts, and have not resounded to calls or messages about their overdue accounts.


Walmart theft leads to 3 arrests

From the Stafford sheriff’s office: [Monday, Oct. 11] at 10:46 a.m., Deputy A.W. Sypolt responded to the Walmart at 11 Village Parkway for a report of a theft. The loss prevention employee reported the female suspect got into a Ford Taurus and the male suspect left on foot.
