National Weather Service Baltimore-Washington: “A backdoor cold front tracking southward will increase shower chances, especially from U.S. 15 westward. A locally damaging wind gust is possible with the stronger storms. Cooler weather arrives by Sunday with low humidity into next week.”

Record-setting day: “The first 90-degree day for most today, and it brings record highs to Dulles and BWI airports.”


Fredericksburg Nationals: “The Fredericksburg winning streak died at eight games, in a 7-3 loss to the Delmarva Shorebirds.”

“The Nationals struck first on Friday night, in the bottom of the second inning. Murphy Stehly lined the first pitch of the frame back up the middle for a double, then later stole third base as Armando Cruz drew a walk. Cruz then stole second himself, and Stehly came home on a throwing error. Wilmer Perez then notched his first RBI with Fredericksburg on a booming double to drive Cruz in to make it 2-0. A wild pitch allowed Perez to reach third base, setting him up to score on a sacrifice fly to make it a 3-0 Nationals lead.”


Manassas Railway Festival is set to take place on June 3, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The location will be Historic Manassas train station at 9431 West Street.

The 29th annual event is free to attend, and visitors of all ages can participate in activities and attractions. This event is held to help celebrate the railway history of the Manassas community.

Fredericksburg Nationals: “The FredNats walked off against the Shorebirds for the second time this week, in an eventful 8-7 victory.”

“Daylen Lile drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the first, stole second base, and then scored the games’ first run on a Sammy Infante double. Infante later swiped third base, setting him up to score on a Paul Witt sacrifice fly to put Fredericksburg ahead 2-0.”


“The 39-year-old driver had glassy, bloodshot eyes, the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, and admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving. She was subsequently charged by Aquia Harbour Police for driving under the influence. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.”

“Both victims are expected to make a full recovery. The crash investigation remains active and is being investigated by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office’s Traffic Safety Unit.”
