Billboard has some up in arms
They are controversial words that garner a second look when seen splashed across a billboard on the highway. The words — “Don’t believe in God? You are not alone.” — are superimposed on a billboard on the west side of Interstate 95, three miles north of U.S. 17, Staffordcountysun.com reports.
Dumfries area apartment complex approved

Stafford County, Va. — While students at Ferry Farm Elementary School will have classes Thursday, it won’t be at their regular school building.
Unlike on Wednesday when classes at the school were canceled, students and staff of Ferry Farm will have class at 9 a.m. at Dixon Smith Middle School at 503 Deacon Road in Stafford County. Buses will run their regular routes, and students who normally get rides to school should be dropped off at Dixon Smith Middle School by 8:40 a.m.
The County’s Human Services Office worked with the Rural Health Initiative Team from McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond and the Mobile Vet Center Program, also based in Richmond, to bring their mobile vehicles to the Stafford Administration Center at 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford, VA 22554. Specialists will be available January 17th, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., and January 18th, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
If enough interest is shown, both groups would consider regular visits to Stafford.
Gov. Robert McDonnell has proposed repealing a law requiring local school system begin classes after Labor Day. Schools can open prior to Labor Day with a waiver from the state, but the state’s tourism industry has long supported the post-Labor Day start.

Stafford County, Va. — Ferry Farm Elementary School in Stafford County is closed today after school officials say the building has no heat. Parents, students, and staff have all been told not to report to the school today.
The YMCA before and after school programs, as well as all after-school activities have been canceled.
Schieber, a Republican who represents Garrisonville on Stafford’s School Board, was unanimously appointed by the six sitting members of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors to replace former Board Chair and now Del. –Elect Mark Dudenhefer (R-Stafford, Woodbridge).
He’ll represent Stafford’s most suburbanized district until April 3, when Garrisonville District residents will head to the polls to decide who will complete the remaining two years of Dudenfeher’s term. The special election date was changed from April 10 to April 3 because the original date conflicted with spring break, said Stafford County Administrator Anthony Romanello.
