North Stafford, Va. — Former Virginia Gov. Timothy Kaine will stump in the Potomac Communties on Saturday in his bid for the U.S. Senate.
After meeting with Democrats in Manassas and Fredericksburg on Saturday morning, Kaine has invited veterans to join him at a roundtable discussion at the Globe and Laurel Restaurant in North Stafford. Expected to be at issue is helping returning war veterans find jobs.

Dumfries, Va. — There are several events taking place in and around the Potomac Communities to commemorate Black History Month this February.
African American cemetery discovered
The Weems-Botts Museum in Dumfries has a report from an archeological investigation that of a nearby African American cemetery, recently located behind Dumfries Elementary School. The cemetery was not found until school officials explored the possibility of expanding the parking lot there, said Prince William and Manassas, Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau spokeswoman Jennifer Buske.
Officials there closed a portion of Va. 630 near U.S. 1 due to downed power lines in the area about 5 a.m. The road has since reopened, according to county officials.
Drivers were told to use nearby Hospital Center Boulevard as bypass.
