Sheriff’s deputies were called to the bank Wednesday morning after a woman drove her car through the glass that separates the parking lot from the bank’s lobby. Two people inside the lobby were hit by the car, and both were taken to a local hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.

Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy early Wednesday afternoon did not have information on what caused the crash, the identity of the woman, or what kind of car she was driving.


On two separate occasions, one in July of 2012 and the second incident in August of 2012, Laurence Stewart was reported to have exposed himself to two different individuals while sitting in his car at the Stafford Marketplace in North Stafford. Detective Greg Bender has investigated both incidents and his investigation has resulted in the warrants for Stewart’s arrest. Stewart was last seen in the area of North Stafford County in mid August.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is asking assistance in locating Laurence Alan Stewart II.. According to the nonprofit National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), one-third of Americans households who made and estimate they thought they would have at least six minutes before a fire in their home would become life threatening. Unfortunately, the time available is often less.

That’s why OWL VFD is teaming up with NFPA during Fire Prevention Week, October 7-13, 2012, to urge residents to “Have Two Ways Out!” This year’s theme focuses on the importance of fire escape planning and practice.


The county’s sheriff’s office today distributed surveillance photos of the two men that investigators said walked into a 7-Eleven at 1 Commerce Parkway in south Stafford at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, produced handguns, and then demanded cash.

The store clerk took out cash drawer from the register, placed it on the counter, and the armed intruders took the money from the drawer and fled, said sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.


The meet-up was the first of its kind for the neighborhood and brought together area residents, business owners, and news media together in an effort to build better relationships with the community.

Those who dropped their business card into the raffle were made eligible to win a free lunch from Mainstreet Grill and Bar.


STAFFORD, Va. — What began as a memorial to honor to honor fallen law enforcement members will expand today.

Four new names will join those of fallen Fredericksburg Police Officer Todd Allen Barr who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2008, and Stafford County Sheriff Deputy Ford Tyson “Toby” Humphrey who was also shot and killed in the line of duty in 1980.


NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — The bookworm bandits are behind bars facing charges, and employees at Hampton Oaks Elementary School are left to clean up their mess.

Authorities were called to the school at 107 Northampton Boulevard in North Stafford at 1:30 a.m. Sunday after a burglar alarm was triggered.
