STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — There was an all-out pursuit for three people in Stafford County on Monday night after authorities learned that a stolen car was about to be sold via the Craigslist online classifieds site.

It started after after someone made arrangements through Craigslist to buy a car and to meet the seller in Stafford County. But a check of the car by the would-be buyer revealed the car had been stolen, police said. The buyer then called the sheriff’s office.


PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Margaret A. Luecke, the 70-year-old grandmother charged with reckless driving following the death of Prince William police Officer Chris Yung on Dec. 31, 2012, was sentenced 200 hours of community service.

Luecke has had no criminal record and no driving infractions in the past 30 years, according to the Washington Post.


MANASSAS, Va. — In the coming months, Engine 501C will be removed from service once our new engine arrives. The 1982 Hahn was placed in service as Wagon 1, it received a refurb from Pierce in 1997 and continued service as Engine 1-1.

As numbering configurations changed over the years, it also ran as Engine 501A until it’s current designation as Engine 501C. All in all this rig has logged over 31 years of service to the citizens of the City of Manassas and Prince William County.


NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — Investigators said a couple from Manassas stopped at  McDonalds with an order of drugs to go.

Stafford County deputies were called to the  McDonalds restaurant at 2862 Jefferson Davis Highway in North Stafford after an anonymous caller said someone was sitting in a truck in a parking lot using drugs.


DUMFRIES, Va. — Increased truck traffic with tankers carrying ethanol has become an issue facing commuters, residents, and Dumfries town officials and residents.

The trucks would travel from U.S. 1 in Dumfries to the winding, 2-lane Possum Point Road to a Nustar Energy facility on the connecting Cockpit Point Road.


STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — National Night Out will be celebrated this year on Tuesday Aug. 6.

In Stafford County, several neighborhoods will hold special events to commemorate the “take back the night” event. And, as in years past, a large community celebration will take place at Stafford Marketplace at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 6.


Embrey Mill, a neighborhood that when finished will have some 1,800 new homes in Stafford County, has announced when those homes will go on sale.

The road to sending children in our area to camp began at a “celebrity” event, and so far has raised $24,000.

In early March the Prince William County / Manassas Boys & Girls Clubs kicked of their annual “Send a Kid to Camp” campaign with a celebrity bartending event. The special evening was spearheaded by the Campaign Chair Heather Mergler, C.E.O. of Advanced Title & Settlements, and Prince William County Potomac District Supervisor Maureen Caddigan.
