Ten restaurants in Old Town Manassas have gotten together to sell raffle tickets for $5 each for your chance to win gift cards to their establishment and also for a chance at the grand prize of an iPad Mini.  All proceeds benefit the Un-Trim-A-Tree Holiday gift Program.  So gather your friends and family so you can treat them to dinner between 5:30 – 9 p.m. at any of these super restaurants – Mackey’s American Pub who is also accepting toys, City tavern, Malone’s Okra’s, City Square, Carmello’s, Monza, Philadelphia Tavern, Katerina’s and Grounds Central Station.


NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — The driver of a sedan took out a fire hydrant about 8 p.m. Thursday.

The crash happened on Barrett Heights Road near Center Street in North Stafford. No one was injured, but water from the broken hydrant gushed from pipes in the ground flooding Barrett Heights Road, several nearby yards, and a gas station parking lot.


STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Officials in Stafford County are looking into what appears to be a colony of feral rabid cats. One child was bitten by a cat which was taken to animal shelter and later died.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — With an unanimous vote, Prince William officials approved the Potomac Shores development on the banks of the Potomac River.

The development will bring nearly 4,000 new homes, a central business district, a new Virginia Railway Express station which the developer will pay for, and hopes of a high-end hotel. While a rezoning of the overall property was approved Tuesday night, some of Potomac Shores’ first homes are already under construction and are slated to be on the market early next year.


QUANTICO, Va. — Yes, Interstate 95 south at Quantico closed during the overnight hours last weekend And, it’ll close again this weekend, too.

Virginia Department of Transportation officials plan to close a southbound portion of the highway in North Stafford at 9:30 p.m. Friday so crews can lay steel for a new bridge that crosses the highway.
