QUANTICO, Va. — On the weekend that marks the end of fighting in the Korean War, a life-sized war horse was unveiled at the National Museum of the Marine Corps.

The war horse, “Sergeant Reckless,” was used by U.S. Marines fighting in the conflict to carry ammunition to the front lines of battle. The horse also carried wounded Marines from the front lines to safety — a task the horse did on her own even after being wounded.

Good morning  – The Greater Prince William Community Health Center is celebrating National Health Center Week on August 13-15 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day.  Volunteers are needed every day to assist with free health screenings such as mammograms, checks for cholesterol, anemia, diabetes, heart disease, depression, vision and dental to name just a few. 

The event will include free car seats, lunch, and music and fun children’s entertainment. So as you can see, your volunteer effort will make a huge impact on thousands of individuals participating in this super event. PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Officials plan to improve a section of Logmill Road in Prince William County. The hilly two-lane road in recent years has been the site of several crashes, some that were fatal and involved teenagers.

Transportation officials say they want to a improve a portion of Logmill Road, between Parnell Court and Meander Creek Lane, to improve the sight distance to make it easier to see oncoming drivers, as well as improve the vertical lines of the roadway.
