Things continue to change weather wise as the region is once again in for a blast from Old Man Winter.

A winter weather advisory will go into effect at 3 a.m. Tuesday and last until 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Snow, one to three inches of it, could fall in Stafford County – an area where there was no winter advisory issued earlier today.


Those who watch and report on Washington-area winter weather say Tuesday’s forecast of up to five inches of snow is a bit excessive.

The Capital Weather Gang at the Washington Post posted to their Facebook page early Tuesday afternoon that the thought of that much snow falling tomorrow, on the heels of this morning’s ice storm, could be snow-lovers’ wishful thinking.


DUMFRIES, Va. — OmniLink buses in Dumfries today will miss some stops after a tree fell onto Fuller Heights Road.

According to the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission, the following stops will be missed:
