CCAA Events, players from the Washington Redskins, and Guy Lambert of WPGC-FM, have pledged to donate all collected unwrapped toys (for both girls and boys) and/or gift cards to assist the following organizations at Christ New Birth Church of Woodbridge.


WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Left over money – some $3.1 million of it – will go to benefit children, their parents, and area sports leagues who called for better playing fields in Prince William County.

A list of field improvements to be paid for with surplus unbudgeted tax money, called carryover funds, was approved by county leaders Tuesday night. Sports league members, children, and their parents sitting the audience at the government center applauded after the new fields were approved.

And just like that, the winter storm that could have dumped two to four inches of snow on the area seemed to fizzle.

A winter storm warning in place for Prince William, Greater Manassas, and much of the Washington metro area was replaced by a winter weather advisory. The revised forecast called for one to three inches of snow.
