The Prince William County Economic Development and Tourism Department and the Prince William Chamber of Commerce are proud to co-host the upcoming Calibrate Small Business conference with the Mason Small Business Development Center.

The free, one-day conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 29 at the Verizon Auditorium. It is designed for established businesses looking to grow.


“Harris Teeter stores in the District will have some more requirements and limitations for customers starting Wednesday,” DC News Now reports.

The bag checks will affect customers who shop in Washington, D.C. Locally, the grocery chain has locations in Bristow, Manassas, and Woodbridge.


“Chris Pearmund owns three wineries and has been in the business in Northern Virginia for more than 30 years. The big change he’s seen over the last decade isn’t a good one. Put simply, fewer people are drinking wine, which means it’s harder to make a winery profitable,” reports Prince William Times.


“Electra.aero, Inc. (“Electra”), a next-gen aerospace company committed to decarbonizing aviation and opening new air transportation markets, today announced a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract from the U.S. Army valued at $1.9 million that funds powered wind tunnel testing of Electra’s hybrid-electric short takeoff and landing (eSTOL) aircraft. The award enables the U.S. Army to explore Electra’s unique blown wing aircraft technology potential to broaden U.S. military capabilities, especially for fuel-efficient, resilient logistics in contested environments,” states a press release.

“(Electra) is a next-gen aerospace company leading the way in sustainable urban and regional mobility. The company is building clean, hybrid-electric, short takeoff and landing (eSTOL) airplanes that fly people and cargo quieter, further, and more affordably. Electra’s technology delivers 2.5x the payload and 10X longer range with 70% lower operating costs than vertical takeoff alternatives with far less certification risk.”


In 1892, K.N. Goolrick opened the Goolrick pharmacy on Caroline Street in Fredericksburg, specializing in things people wanted, like milkshakes and medicine.

Fast forward 132 years, and the pharmacy is still there, but the windows are whitewashed because this iconic landmark is getting a major renovation as it adapts to the times. And soda fountain fans need not worry; the historic soda fountain behind the café bar will be a focus of the new pharmacy.

Naveed and Aman are not newcomers to the restaurant scene in Fredericksburg, having been part of the community for almost two decades. Their journey began with Vocelli Pizza in 2008, and since then, they have expanded to four pizza delivery locations across the area.
