PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — Prince William County will use federal grant money to purchase a home in a flood plain and demolish it.

The one-story, three bedroom home at 7803 Lake Drive near Manassas was built in 1969 on the bank of the Bull Run River. It is often inundated with flood waters during periods of moderate rains, according to county documents.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — Out with the Tri-County Parkway and in with Godwin Drive Extended.

The Prince William County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday could decide to remove the Tri–County Parkway, a limited-access highway from Manassas to Loudoun County conceived 12 years ago but never built, from Prince William’s comprehensive plan.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — When it comes to the Kline property development, Prince Wiliam County Public Schools made itself clear.

“The School Division is not in support of any rezoning that increases student capacity at schools already at or in excess of 100% capacity or a rezoning that causes student capacity at any school to exceed 100% capacity, unless proffers sufficient to mitigate the impact to the School Division are received,” stated Prince William schools Supervisor of Land Acquisition and CIP Planning in a November 3, 2016 document to the school board.

WOODBRIDGE — Starting Oct. 1, 2020, you’ll need a REAL ID to board a domestic flight in the U.S.

Virginia’s DMV will be the place to get the new REAL ID, and it’s going to need some additional space to serve the flying public who will be applying for the credential, said Delegate Richard Anderson (R-Prince William).

MANASSAS — New signs designed to make it easier to find parking in Downtown Manassas could be installed before Christmas.

The new blue signs with a large “P” printed on them, the international symbol to denote vehicle parking, will replace the traditional brown signs that match other street signs in downtown.
