LAKE RIDGE — Ruth Anderson is standing behind her call to name a new park after the late Michele McQuigg, a longtime public servant who came under fire when she opposed same-sex marriage.

The Prince William County Park Commission last month decided to go back the drawing board when it comes to naming the 15-acre park at the corner of Old Bridge Road and Oakwood Drive in Lake Ridge. It was asked to make a recommendation on whether or not McQuigg’s name should be used for the park.

MANASSAS PARK — Manassas Park officials are bucking a regional trend of doing not requiring its residents to post decals on their vehicle windshields.

After doing away with them in 2017, the city will once again require residents to pay for the stickers that prove they paid their city taxes, and are a city resident.

MANASSAS — It’s not the first time Mohaned Zyoud has been in trouble with the law, court records show.

He’s now charged with attempted malicious wounding after police said he towed a car from the 15600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway, near Koons Automotive, at 9 p.m. Thursday, July 18.
