We’re about to find out if the mall Santa Claus will retain his popularity in the time of coronavirus.

Potomac Mills mall just announced Santa will be seen only by appointment this season. The jolly old elf will begin seeing children at the Woodbridge shopping mall later this month.

Voters in Manassas will head to the polls tomorrow to vote for a slew of candidates, and one of them is for city mayor.

Theresa Coates Ellis is the Republican candidate for mayor. She’s been on the City Council since 2018, and she hopes to succeed Hal Parrish II, whose been mayor since 2008 and a member of the City Council since 1993.


Greater Prince William County leaders and healthcare officials have banded together in an effort to stress the importance of community health as Virginians head into flu season.

According to the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association, it’s estimated at least 39 million Americans became ill during last year’s flu season leading to 18 million medical visits, 410,000 hospitalizations and at least 24,000 deaths.


On Wednesday, Oct. 28, Prince William Willia police officers were called to the Bayvue Apartments located in the 1400 block of Bayside Avenue in Woodbridge to investigate shots fired call.

When they arrived, officers found a 34-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. Rescue personnel arrived at the location and took the victim to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.


Schools

Nearly 80 special education students will return to in-person learning in Manassas.

The city School Board approved a plan to send back 76 “school-dependent learners,” and about 43 teachers on November 4. It will make the first time that anyone students or teachers have been back to class since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in March.
