A Fredericksburg man who authorities said eluded them during a car pursuit, and then crashed into a light pole, is now also faces credit card fraud charges.

On January 20, Stafford County Sheriff’s Detective D.V. Torrice Jr. began investigating where a victim’s debit card was stolen from his car and then was used to complete multiple fraudulent transactions.

Donald Woodruff Pulsifer (b. June 9, 1932), son of Ethel and E. Russell Pulsifer of Boston, MA, departed for his eternal home on January 20, 2021. He was preceded in death by wife Gail Olsen, his parents, and sister Jean P. Young; he is survived by brother Bruce C. and many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Don grew up in Milton, MA, and graduated from Norwich University (VT). On active duty in the Army, he earned his MBA from Harvard. After tours to Vietnam and service on multiple posts, Don retired as Lieutenant Colonel. Four decades in the life insurance industry followed.

Libraries in the Fredericksburg region will reopen to the public on March 1.

Residents will be able to go inside library branches, including two in Stafford County, the Porter Branch at 2001 Parkway Boulevard in North Stafford, and the Howell Branch at 806 Lyons Boulevard, browse collections, and check out materials.


Opinion

On Tuesday evening, the Board of Supervisors will set the advertised tax rates for the 2022 Fiscal Year. Among them will be the residential tax rate.

Currently on the table is a proposal by the County Executive that would not increase the tax rate, but because of increases in home value assessments set by the County, would result in an average residential tax increase of $306 over last year’s bill, and $328 with the residential Fire Levy.
