A crash that took the lives of three people started as a police pursuit.

Police tell us the driver of a Dodge Avenger evaded a state trooper that tried to stop the vehicle vehicle near the Massaponax exit in Spostylvania County at 4:33 p.m. Police said the car was traveling at 80 mph in a 65 mph zone on Interstate 95 north.

Drivers on Interstate 95 south will get some relief at the Occoquan River.

A new fourth lane will be built at one of the biggest bottlenecks in the region, where four lanes of traffic condense into three at the Purple Heart Bridge. The nearly three-mile lane will cost $14.6 million to construct and will run from Route 123 to the Prince William County Parkway.

For the first time since May, the jail in Prince William County is coronavirus-free.

Peter Meleitis, the superintendent of the county’s Adult Detention Center in Manassas, shared the good news. It comes after a series of infections of jail staff and inmates that began last May.

Zandra’s Taqueria in Manassas, known for its homemade tacos, will reopen its flagship location on Center Street in May.

Miguel Pires, the owner, decided to close and gut the restaurant in October for a top-down renovation. A new kitchen, dining room, and a new rooftop bar will be some of the new amenities when Zandra’s reopens.

Stafford sheriff’s deputies say they’ve nabbed a man responsible for stealing airbags from multiple vehicles.

On March 14 at 3:38 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office was notified by off-sight security that live security footage was showing a suspect unlawfully on the property of Insurance Auto Auctions, at 15 Le Way Drive. When they arrived, deputies established a perimeter around the business.
