Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam made a surprise visit to Manassas vaccine clinic Tuesday.

The governor has been making the rounds to vaccination clinics across the state after he announced earlier this month anyone over the age of 18 now has the option of getting vaccinated for the coronavirus. The governor visited two other vaccination clinics in our area, one at First Zion Baptist Church near Dumfries, and Todos Supermarket in Woodbridge on April 4.

On June 8, 2021, the Commonwealth of Virginia will have a Democratic primary election for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and several primaries for the House of Delegates representing Prince William County.

Democrats in Districts 2 (Woodbridge), 31 (Dale City), and 50 (Bristow, Manassas), and Republicans in District 51 (Lake Ridge, Nokesville) will have primary elections.

Woodbridge man shot, flown to hospital 

Shooting Investigation – On April 12 at 12:35AM, officers responded to the Bayvue Apartments located in the 1300 block of Bayside Ave. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting. Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard before parties dispersed. As officers arrived in the area, they observed a vehicle matching the description given and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle.

On April 5 at 10:15 p.m., Deputy C.R. Szentkuti was on patrol near The Laundry Basket, at 411 Chatham Heights Road when he heard gunshots coming from behind the business.

Sergeant A.I. Assur heard the shots as well and both deputies responded to the area. Upon arrival, they observed three males exit the tree line. The suspects fled upon seeing the presence of Sheriff’s Office vehicles, according to a department spokeswoman.
