NOVA’s Woodbridge Campus will hold an Open House on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to attend this free event to learn more about NOVA-Woodbridge by touring the campus; applying for the Summer and/or Fall semesters; receiving on-site financial aid assistance; learning about transferring and Guaranteed Admissions to four-year universities; learning about the many academic programs; and receiving academic advising to make sure you start (or restart!) your college career on the right path.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that April is National Distracted Driving Month. This year’s theme, provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Association is “U Drive. U Text. U Pay”.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office will be actively patrolling, looking for motorists who are texting and driving. Texting While Driving is now a primary offense in Virginia with drivers facing a fine of $125.00 and court costs for the 1^st offense and a fine of $250.00 and court costs for the second offense. Studies show that drivers are 23 times more likely to be in an accident if they are texting and driving and more than 3000 teens die each year in crashes caused by texting while driving.

April brings more free book talks and outside adventures, with walking tours and bike tours of the City of Manassas.

From April through October take a Historic Downtown Walking Tour on Thursdays and Fridays at noon.  During the tour, costumed interpreters share stories about Historic Downtown during the Civil War and about the rebirth of the area after war and the fire.  Visit www.manassasmuseum.org<https://www.manassasmuseum.org> for more information.

Tuesday, Mar. 31 – Demolition training is scheduled from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Wednesday, Apr. 1 – Demolition training is scheduled from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Thursday, Apr. 2 – Demolition training is scheduled from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday, Apr. 3 – Demolition training is scheduled from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Town of Dumfries, Virginia is hosting our annual Multicultural Festival on May 9th from 11 am – 4 pm and we are currently seeking vendors, crafters, groups, and artists to bring awareness of their culture through their food, educational materials, artistic works, or performances.
