John Sidney Hutton IV, age 84, lifelong resident of Manassas passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 in Burke, VA.

He was born on July 2, 1933 in Warrenton, VA to the late John Sidney Hutton III and Alice (Payne) Hutton. Mr. Hutton retired in 1991 from AT&T as an System Technician. He was a charter member of Manassas St. Thomas United Methodist Church and Greater Manassas Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Predeceased by his parents and wife Shirley Jean Hutton.
Survivors include three sons: John Sidney Hutton V, David W. Hutton and Derek A. Hutton; sister: Anne H. Miller; two grandchildren: Casie and Nathan; and two great grandchildren: Haley and Bently.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 10:00 AM with Leslie Oakes officiating. Interment at Warrenton Cemetery in Warrenton, Virginia. A reception immediately follow the interment at Greater Manassas Volunteer Rescue Squad, 9322 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia.

Mary Hedrick

Virginia Hedrick of Manassas, VA, died peacefully on August 14, 2017 at her home.

Virginia grew up in Manassas and was raised by her parents, Michael and Yolanda Papa along with 4 brothers and one sister.

Virginia graduated from St. Patrick’s high school, Richmond VA. She completed her bachelor’s degree at St. Agnes School of Nursing in Baltimore, MD in May, 1947.

Virginia worked as a registered nurse and unit supervisor at Prince William County Hospital in Manassas VA for 27 years. Virginia was a member of the United States Cadet Nursing Corps from 1943 to 1945. She has been a lifetime member of All Saints Catholic Church and volunteered with St. Vincent DePaul, Catholic Charities, Serve, Project Mend-a-House.

She received numerous awards and recognitions for her professional and volunteer services and to include being a part of the Prince William Nursing Education Committee and The National Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs.

In addition to her work, Virginia enjoyed reading, movies, travel, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard Hedrick and daughter-in-law Galina Koval of Stuart, FL and Charles Hedrick and daughter-in-law Frances Hedrick of Gainesville VA, 2 granddaughters, Natalie Bello and husband Austin Bello of Bristow VA, Michelle Hedrick of Richmond VA, and one great grandson, Brayden Bello.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 17th, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Baker-Post Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 10001 Nokesville Road, Manassas, VA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 18th, 2017 at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas, VA.

Entombment will take place in Stonewall Memorial Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway, Manassas, VA following the service.

The Knights of Columbus will provide refreshments at their hall located adjacent to the All Saints Catholic Church after burial.

Jack Francis Sobolewski, age 78, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Novant Health Prince William Medical Center, Manassas, VA.

He was born on January 13, 1939 in Knoxville, TN. Jack retired after 35 years from the FBI as a Supervisory Computer Specialist.

Predeceased by his parents: James Marc and Lula (Shook) Sobolewski and sister-in-law: Bonnie Sobolewski.

Clay Donald Barnwell

Clay Donald Barnwell, 62, of Manassas, Virginia, passed away Thursday August 10, 2017 in his home.

To honor and celebrate his life, a service will be held at Pierce Funeral Home on Tuesday August 15, 2017 at 2:30pm, located at 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia, 20110.

Clay was born on February 23, 1955 in Fort Belvoir, Virginia to William Morris Barnwell and Alice Fay Barnwell. He was the youngest of three children; his brother Bill Hodges Barnwell, and his sister June Carol Barnwell. He graduated from Frankfurt High School in Frankfurt, Germany. Clay retired after more than 30 years of service with United States Federal Government. He enjoyed visiting the Shenandoah Mountains with long-time family friend, Jerry Owens, and spending time with his family. He spent his time as a board member with his residential complex, and always lent a helping hand in his community. In addition, he participated in Stonewall Jackson High School’s Boosters Organization, and enjoyed attending his children’s athletic and musical events.

Clay is survived by his mother, brother, and two children, Jacqueline Ashley Barnwell (28) and Anthony William Barnwell (26). He was preceded in death by his sister June Carol Barnwell and his father William Morris Barnwell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the ALS Community of Hope; fund name Clay Barnwell.
