Larry Clyde Casperson, 77 of Woodbridge, VA passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2020 in Woodbridge due to complications of COVID 19. He was born October 29, 1943 in Sturgeon Bay, WI to Clyde and Mila Casperson.
He grew up in Sister Bay, WI, attended Sister Bay Grade School and graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1961. Larry enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the U.S. Naval Medical Corps. He worked in retail sales in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio and then worked as a district manager for Peoples Drug in New Jersey. Larry found his passion for the commercial sign industry when he moved to Occoquan, VA. He was an independent contractor in the sales and design of commercial signage for over 45 years.
Benjamin Martin Davis, Jr. (age 67), departed this life unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, due to cardiac arrest and a diagnosis of a unspecified cancer. Benjamin dedicated 24 years of service as Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, Army Reserves and DC National Guard until his retirement in 2005. Ben dedicated over 28 years as a Virginia Department of Transportation employee until his retirement in 2017, he never quit working unto the Lord. He unselfishly served so many family, friends, neighbors, co-workers. Ben never met a stranger, he was bigger than life, beautiful inside and out.
Alvenia was born on February 8, 1931, to Marie Olle Shaw and Thomas Henry Jackson in Detroit, Michigan. She was the second of five children, three sisters and a brother; Arletta (preceded in death), Jacqueline (Jackie), Marie (Tootie)(preceded her in death), and Mell (preceded her in death). Alvenia attended Higginbottham ES, Post Junior High and Cooley HS in Detroit, Michigan. She also attended college. Alvenia accepted Christ at an early age. She attended New Prospect Baptist Church on Wisconsin St, Detroit, Michigan, where she was baptized and sang in the choir. Alvenia’s first job was at SS Kresge Retail Store. She worked as the head cook at their lunch counter. During this time, she introduced her Stuffed Cabbage recipe to the store. While working at this store, she met and married Donald Christian Reeves Sr (preceded her in death). From that union there were four children born; Donald C. Reeves Jr (preceded her in death), Gary R. Reeves (preceded her in death), Sharon P. Reeves (Pindle) and Randy Reeves (preceded her in death).
Alvenia loved singing and cooking. She was always singing while she was cooking. She also loved to travel and shop, especially on QVC.
Our beautiful, strong, caring and loving, wife, mother, sister, Ma and friend Frances (Fran) Laskofski, age 70 passed away at home on Thursday, December 24, 2020. She was surrounded by lots of love and her family.
Fran was born to the late Paul and Connie Arcudi on December 30, 1949. Born and raised in Pittston, Pennsylvania, she grew up with two older sisters, Connie and Janie, and was also close with her large extended family. She attended Wilkes University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and took graduate courses in education.
