A driver of a motorcycle was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital after crashing his bike in Stafford’s Lake Arrowhead neighborhood.

The crash occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday when the driver of the bike was traveling on Beech Drive toward Lakeside Drive. The biker was rounding a curve when he lost control of his bike and slid off the road. The bike landed near a tree. Witnesses said the biker was found about 20 yards away from the bike and was unresponsive.

The Virginia Sheriffs Association on Thursday presented Virginia House of Delegates Speaker William J. Howell (R-Stafford) with the 2015 Outstanding Legislative Service Award. The award was presented to Speaker Howell by Stafford County Sheriff Charles Jett at the 2015 Sheriffs’ Association spring conference in Roanoke.

“I am honored to be recognized by the Sheriffs’ Association and grateful for all that they do as part of Virginia’s law enforcement and public safety community. It’s an even greater privilege to be presented this award by Sheriff Jett, a man whom I respect and admire greatly,” said Howell.

According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, David John Marcussen, a 33-year old Fredericksburg man has been charged with one county of felony murder, one county of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of cruelty to children and one count of child neglect.

On January 6, the Stafford sheriff’s office received a call from child protective services, stating that they had received information about an 11-month old boy, identified as Ka’ron Mason, who had been brought to a local hospital.

On May 16, Stafford Volunteer Fire Department, Station 2, and Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club (MC), Station 161, will join forces to host the First Annual “John “Mac” McDonald Poker Run, a motorcycle event to raise money for the newly established “John McDonald Scholarship Fund.”

The Poker Run will bring together motorcycle clubs and enthusiast alike in Mac’s memory so that riders can share stories about Mac and his life-long contribution to Public and Fire Safety, which spans decades.

Drivers passing by saw blood on the pavement outside a popular shopping destination in the days leading up to Christmas.

According to the Stafford sheriff’s office, two men were involved in road rage argument. The men got out of their cars, and one stabbed the other. A victim was taken to a local hospital.
