Water bills could be going up for some Prince William County residents.
The proposed increase for Virginia American Water customers would mean a 30% increase for customers in Prince William County. Virginia American Water’s Prince William customers are in the eastern portion of the county while the separate Prince William Service Authority provides water service for all other areas of the county.

We started 2015 off with heavy snows that left drivers stranded on the roads. As the weather improved, we saw more breweries pop up in shopping centers as local governments changed the rules that once prevented them from locating there.
A new school is opening in the Manassas area in the winter of January 2017.
Due to overcrowding in grade levels fifth and sixth, this new school is being built to relieve overcrowded classrooms. These students will be coming from the Baldwin attendance zone.
Indya Davis most likely stabbed and killed Lyle Ferringer before she stabbed and killed herself.
Prince William police today reclassified Ferringer’s death from suicide to homicide. It’s now believed the two 17 year old teenagers parked their van on Hamilton Drive in Dale City October 24 voluntarily and had intended to die.
The 2016, 60-day session of the Virginia General Assembly gavels in on January 13.
The legislature will craft a two-year budget, which will be Governor McAuliffe’s first chance to put his stamp on the state’s finances. While Virginia’s economy lags behind the national average, revenue is up more than average for the first time since I was elected in 2009 and there are many unmet needs worthy of funding.

It’s Christmas Eve, and the forecasted high is 73 degrees with a chance of flooding.
An unusually warm air mass for December coupled with the drenching rains that brought between one and two inches of rain to our area yesterdays means more rain today could produce minor flooding.
Especially during the holidays, but also throughout the year, people have a giving spirit.
Recently, a group of City of Manassas staff met to devise ways to give back this holiday season. They came up with the 12 Days of Giving Campaign. The project helped city staff to be involved with non-profit groups working to serve those in our community by giving the gift of time and talent.
An instructor for Tiger Martial Arts Academy in Bristow has been charged with felony child abuse after throwing five-year-old child over his shoulders and then onto the ground resulting in the victim losing consciousness, police said.
Felony Child Abuse – On December 22nd, detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate an assault which was reported to have occurred at the Tiger Martial Arts Academy located at 10306 Bristow Center Dr in Bristow (20181) on December 21st.
