Up to 100 townhomes could be built near the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Hoadly Road.
Dubbed “the Apollo project” for its location on Apollo Drive, the project on 25 acres of land would bring a mix of townhomes, self-storage units, and retail to an area just across from a shopping center anchored by Harris Teeter grocery.

The Torch that symbolizes the beginning of the Special Olympics Games in Richmond, Va., will be lit in Arlington and carried by police officers and Special Olympians down U.S. Route 1 to Richmond on Thursday, June 8, 2017.

“House of Mercy on the Manassas/Gainesville border is hosting a day-long “drive-thru” on Thursday, June 8 “Do More 24” Day. People will purchase a new package of underwear, any type, any size, any gender, and drive through the parking lot on June 8 to throw them into a big bin. There will be friendly volunteers there to accept the donations, and provide a tax receipt, if required.

From Prince William police:
“Burglary with Intent to Defile – On June 4 at 4:10AM, officers responded to the Potomac Inn located at 13964 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The victim, a 62-year-old woman of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was sleeping in her bed when she woke to an unknown man standing over her. At the time, the man, later identified as the accused, was not wearing pants. The victim screamed which woke her husband sleeping next to her. The accused attempted to leave and was detained by parties on site. Officers arrived and determined the suspect was intoxicated and had broken into the room through a kitchen window. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested without further incident.

Good morning Prince William – The Stuff a Truck Event to support Northern Virginia Family Service- SERVE Campus is Thursday June 8th, 10am-4pm at the Manassas Mall entrance 4. They are collecting nonperishable food items, diapers, wipes, toiletries and paper products to kick off a busy summer in the food pantry. They are unable to accept clothing, toys and housewares. A black bear was struck and killed by a car traveling on Route 610 Garrisonville Road in North Stafford on Thursday night.
The bear was walking in the area of Joshua Road when it was struck by a car, killing it instantly, according to a Stafford County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
