Serve Our Willing Warriors Executive Director Jeffery Sapp announced today he will step down by the end of the year.
Sapp has served in the executive director role for one year. He told Potomac Local today his departure was a mutual decision between him and the charity’s board of directors.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office has received several calls regarding scammers posing as law enforcement in an effort to steal money and personal information.
The Dumfries Town Council will hold a series of public hearings at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, to address buildings they have identified as unsafe or a nuisance to the community.

From Virginia State Police:
A South Carolina man is in custody after shooting at Virginia State Police following a pursuit up Interstate 95 that ended in Spotsylvania County. Jerrell C. Richardson, 21, of Greenville, S.C., is being held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail in Stafford, Va. After consultation with the Spotsylvania County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Virginia State Police charged Richardson with on one felony count of eluding police, one felony count of assault on a police officer, possession of marijuana, driving without a valid operator’s license, reckless driving and operating a vehicle without headlights. Additional charges are pending.
