Officials with the White House Historical Association toured Stafford County’s Government Island on Monday, along with Scottish Stonemason Charles Jones who is visiting the U.S. for a symposium, “The United Kingdom and Ireland in the White House: A Conversation on Historical Perspectives.” The tour provided Jones a historical reference to Government Island’s quarry history in supplying stone for the White House.

There will be a full-scale exercise on May 7, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the planned incident site of Embrey Mill Community and Embrey Mill Park. Stafford County along with other localities, nongovernmental organizations, state, and federal departments and agencies will participate in the 2018 Virginia Emergency Support Team Exercise (VESTEX) as part of Atlantic Fury, a National Level Exercise (NLE), to test and evaluate response and recovery capabilities immediately following a catastrophic hurricane.

From Prince William police: 

Sexual Assault Investigation *ARREST – During the investigation into the sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at the Le Tache Couple Boutique in Manassas (20109) on April 16, detectives with the Special Victim’s Unit were able to identify the suspect with assistance from the public. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Benjamin Alex DINARTE, was arrested without incident at his residence in Manassas.
