Maybe the name Kris Kristofferson rings a bell, or maybe it doesn’t. Either way, here’s a little story about the songwriter and actor who is now 80.
For several years, it was thought he was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or some other kind of dementia. His memory had been deteriorating. Then in June 2016, he revealed he was misdiagnosed. What he actually had was Lyme disease.
DALE CITY — Ongoing work to replace the roof at Beville Middle School led to a fire on Friday.
Fire and rescue crews were called to the school at 4901 Dale Boulevard at 11:55 a.m. Someone using blowtorch accidentally caught roof ablaze.
STAFFORD — Germanna Community College (GCC) and Central Rappahannock Regional Library (CRRL) have teamed up to provide Stafford County with a joint-use library for the Community College students and Regional Library members.
The library will be located at the Stafford Center of Germanna officially known as Barbara J. Fried Center, located at124 Old Potomac Church Road. The library will officially open August 20 with a “Welcome Back Students” event planned for August 18.

Deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect on Wednesday in connection with two reported thefts of sneakers. On August 15, 2018, Deputy Aubrecht responded to a call regarding an auto accident and possible robbery in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Merryview Drive.
WOODBRIDGE — Local leaders will gather to discuss progress on multiple transportation projects in the region.
The meeting will take place at the Woodbridge Campus of Northern Virginia Community College on just off Neabsco Mills Road in Woodbridge.
STAFFORD — Bicycle trails are on the radar of county planners in Stafford.
Planners seek input from residents who would use the planned trails. The county will hold two meetings to talk about where the trails would be built, and how they fit into the county government’s comprehensive plan for the jurisdiction.
