The Citadel, New York Institute of Technology and University of Scranton have high achievers, according to press releases we received from each institution:
Patrick Ryan of Manassas, VA (20112) was awarded gold stars by The Citadel for achieving a 3.7 grade point average or higher during the 2018 spring semester. Cadets and students who achieve gold star recognition are also placed on The Citadel’s dean’s list.

Boy Scout Troop 1882 sent us this press release announcing a local food drive and the results:
Jack Bedinger, a Scout with Boy Scout Troop 1882, chartered by the QBE Foundation in Haymarket, Virginia, recently completed his Eagle Scout rank project organizing a food drive that collected more than 2,200 pounds of food for the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry. Successfully completing an Eagle Scout service project requires that the Scout plan, develop, and give leadership to others in a service project helpful to any religious institution, school, or their community.

From the Prince William police report:
Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On August 29 at 6:38PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5500 block of Saint Charles Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 54-year-old woman, reported to police that she and the accused, a family member, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim with a hammer causing minor injuries. The parties eventually separated and the police were contacted. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Alyssa Ann EVERETT, was arrested.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On August 29 at 3:32PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 15100 block of Arum Pl in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed that an unknown suspect attempted entry into the residence sometime that afternoon through the front door, which was found damaged. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.
