DALE CITY — (Press Release) On September 25 at 10:59 a.m., officers responded to investigate an attempted robbery that occurred in the area of Dale Blvd and Orangewood Dr in [Dale City] that occurred on September 24 at approximately 5:40 a.m.
The victim, a 24-year-old woman, reported to police that she was walking in the above area when an unknown man approached her. During the encounter, the man brandished a handgun and demanded the victim’s wallet.

GAINESVILLE — (Press Release) Upon analyzing evidence collected from the scene, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit believe the striking vehicle involved in the fatal hit & run crash that occurred in the area of Sudley Rd near Catharpin Rd in Gainesville was a 2005-2010, white, 4-door Chrysler 300 with damage to the front driver’s side of the vehicle.
The vehicle struck and killed a Maryland teen shortly before 2:30AM on September 22 before continuing westbound on Sudley Rd. Due to legal restrictions, the identity of the juvenile victim is continuing to be withheld pending the ongoing criminal investigation. STAFFORD COUNTY — Traffic began moving again on Interstate 95 south in Stafford County about 1 o’clock this afternoon.
A southbound portion of the highway was closed about an hour earlier at milepost 142 just before the Stafford exit after at least two tractor-trailers were involved in a crash.
Woodbridge VA – Col. Lorraine (Shaw) DuBois Goodrich, USMC (Ret.), age 70, native of Amherst MA, passed away on May 16, 2018.
Lorraine graduated from Amherst Regional High School in 1965. After graduating in German from UMass-Amherst in 1969, she joined the U. S. Navy in 1970,transferring to the Marine Corps a year later. After retiring from active duty, she joined the reserves until final retirement
