WOODBRIDGE — (Press release) Travelers and locals will once again be able to look for the iconic Potomac Mills sign along Interstate 95. Potomac Mills mall announced today that the reconstruction of the local landmark is officially underway, with completed installation anticipated later this month. 

“The Potomac Mills sign that stands tall on I-95 has been a staple in our community for many years,” said Jen Snitselaar, General Manager, Potomac Mills Mall. “The new design and updated structure will give the sign a new feel, while still honoring the tradition it brings to the area.”

STAFFORD — (Press release) Stafford County Public Schools is pleased to announce that the Stafford High School theater department won first place at the Virginia High School League State Theatre Festival held March 2, 2019, in Charlottesville, Virginia, with the performance of an avant-garde adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. Along with the championship title, two actors, senior Ryan Anderson, and sophomore Austin Cox, won Outstanding Actor awards for the performances as the Mad Hatter and the White Knight.

The group started the season in October with performances of the play for the public and the student community at Stafford High School. A few days later, the cast competed in the Virginia Theatre Conference High School Theatre Festival, where the production won the Technical Merit Award, and honorable mentions for both overall play and costumes. Anderson and Ava Mullanaphy, who played the title role of Alice, earned spots on the All-State Cast.


PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — (Press release) Malicious Wounding – On March 8 at 6:40 p.m., officers responded to a wooded area near the 12000 block of Hooe Rd. in Bristow (20136) for the report of a subject who had been shot.

When officers arrived, they located the victim, identified as an 18-year-old male, suffering from gunshot and stab wounds.
