On Wednesday, March 31 at 6:25 p.m., Prince William police officers responded to the intersection of Route 1 and Locust Shade Drive, outside the Locust Shade Park in Triangle for reports of a person in the road.
The investigation revealed that the victim, identified as a 35-year-old woman, stopped in the roadway, near Quantico Marine Corps Base, to avoid striking a woman, later identified as the accused, who was in the roadway and obstructing traffic. While stopped, the accused briefly spoke to the victim, before walking to the passenger side of the vehicle, and getting inside.

Sentara Healthcare will pay its employees a $15 an hour minimum wage, eight months earlier than planned.
Sentara announced in late 2019 that it would incrementally increase its starting wage to $15 by January 2022, but recently chose to accelerate the process. This starting wage is more than twice the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.
Construction crews are preparing to place the final new bridge beams in April for an improved Chatham Bridge over the Rappahannock River between Stafford County and Fredericksburg, and river traffic will be briefly stopped on weekdays for public safety when beams are lifted over the water.
River traffic may encounter brief, intermittent stops between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. starting the week of Monday, April 5 – Friday, April 9, and on weekdays for the remainder of April.

Good news for commuters: the Joplin Road bridge over Quantico Creek will reopen to through traffic on Friday, April 2, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The bridge was completely rebuilt after historic flooding on Aug. 13 required its closure.
While there won’t be the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House this year, the Easter Bunny will visit Prince William County’s Coles District.
Supervisor Yesli Vega says she will restart the annual tradition of holding an Easter Egg Hunt at Coles Elementary School, located at 7405 Hoadly Road. The event will be held from Saturday, April from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families are invited, and light refreshments will be served.
