Prince William County, Va. — It’s time for the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission to decide who will clean and remove snow from its bus shelters.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to Westminster Lane just off Staffordboro Boulevard at 5:15 a.m. Thursday after someone reported their 4-door maroon Toyota Tercel stolen.
Its owner drove it home Wednesday night, woke up Thursday and found it missing, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy. (more…)
Fairfax County, Va. –– The libraries in Fairfax County want to virtually help you find a job.
The county has launched a Virtual Career Center on the library’s website, which allows users to find what jobs they would be a good fit for, take their career interest inventory, get tips for interviewing, resume writing and with negotiating salaries.
McParland is scheduled to appear in a Prince William County courthouse at 9 a.m. Feb. 18.
According to court records, he was to be sentenced today for a DUI charge he received in December.
Woodbridge, Va. –– One woman who lives in Woodbridge is charged with felony child abuse.
A Stafford sheriff’s deputy was flagged down at 4:54 p.m. Tuesday by a driver who said they saw someone in a blue Ford F-150 pickup swerving into oncoming traffic while traveling in the area of U.S. in North Stafford.
The deputy later caught up with the truck, saw the driver swerving in and out of traffic and nearly colliding with oncoming cars, and then stopped the driver at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Telegraph Road in Boswell’s Corner, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy. (more…)

Woodbridge, Va. –– If developers want Prince William leaders’ support for High Occupancy Toll lanes, they’d better build a new commuter parking lot.
As part of the deal, the two reversible lanes High Occupancy Vehicle lanes on I-95 at Dumfries Road (Va. 234) will be extended to Garrisonville Road (Va. 610) in North Stafford, new access points from the lanes to Va. 610, Joplin Road (Va. 619), Prince William Parkway, Fairfax County Parkway, Franconia-Springfield Parkway, I-495 and Edsall Road will be added.
And as the HOV lanes are converted into toll lanes, they will be restriped to include a third lane from Prince William Parkway to Edsall Road. (more…)
