The National Weather Service says a line of heavy showers is moving through the area and streams and creeks are rising toppling their banks.
Forecasters say the rains we’ve experienced today should make rivers crest tonight at two to three feet above normal.

The crash happened about 11:45 a.m. at mile post 152 at Dumfries. Those involved in the crashed suffered injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, said Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.
Initial reports indicate police were directing traffic up the exit ramp to Dumfries Road (Va. 234) to get drivers around the crash, but later asked the ramp be closed to drivers.

Witnesses about 11:50 p.m. told PotomacLocal.com they heard gunshots fired when the FBI raided the homes on Bremerton Drive in Dale City.
Witnesses also said they saw flash bombs used inside at least one of the homes.
The Dairy Queen restaurant in Center Plaza in Dale City is being renovated and was scheduled to reopen on March 22.
On Wednesday, we learned the owners of the store have hit some snags in the renovation process and have pushed back the reopening to March 29.
