STAFFORD, Va. – The Mobile Vet Center Program’s mobile unit will make a return trip to Stafford County on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. The Mobile Vet Center, based in Richmond, brings services to veterans who might otherwise have to go to Richmond or Washington, D.C.

The unit will be in Stafford from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the George L. Gordon, Jr., Government Center, 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford, VA 22554.

DALE CITY, Va. — Prince William County Parks & Recreation announced the annual maintenance schedules for Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center and Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center.

Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center, located at 14300 Minnieville Road, Dale City, will close from August 20th to August 24th. Passholders will be welcome to use the facilities at Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center, located at 13025 Chinn Park Drive, Prince William, or Freedom Aquatics & Fitness Center, located at 9100 Freedom Center Blvd, Manassas.

The Lake Ridge Parks and Recreation Association has offered a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in the incident Sunday night that saw several bags of kitty litter dumped into the Canterbury Woods Swimming Pool on Chaucer Lane in Lake Ridge.

MANASSAS PARK, Va. – The City of Manassas Park Department of Parks and Recreation invites you to join us at the Signal Hill Cross Country 5K, taking place at Signal Hill Park on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 8:30am. This event is for Teens to Adults and will feature a 3.1 mile race around Signal Hill Park.

This is not your normal 5K road race. This race features very little pavement, and a plethora of dirt trails, hills and rough terrain. If you ran cross country in high school or college, and miss the off-road environment; or you are in High School and about to start your cross country season, this race is for you. Registration before Aug. 15 is $20 for Adults and $10 for high school/middle school students and includes a race t-shirt. After Aug. 15, the price increases by $2 and t-shirts are provided as available. Race begins on top of the hill (Field #4) at Signal Hill Park at 8:30 a.m.
