Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center has partnered with the Prince William Courage Soccer Club and the Prince William County public school to launch a new afterschool program that will focus on fitness, understanding health, and nutrition. The program has been dubbed the Prince William Courage “F.U.N.” Project, and it marks it’s debut on Tuesday.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Neighbors gathered to remember a woman who was tragically shot and killed by her husband two years ago. Afterward, her husband took his own life.
Area residents filled the track at Prince William County’s Freedom High School in Woodbridge on Saturday to remember the life of Jenny Vaughn Bates at the “No Woman, No Cry 5K Walk.”

NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — A charity event to raise donations of canned food brought out zombies in North Stafford.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — In September 1938, the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department was officially incorporated.
It marked two years of hard work for a group of concerned citizens who recognized the need for a fire department in the area. Many of them put up personal property and their own money to secure loans to build a building to house the apparatus and start the department.
NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — Two young lives were lost in an early morning crash today on Va. 610 in North Stafford.
A 2002 Ford Taurus was traveling east on Garrisonville Road (Va. 610) about 3:05 a.m. Saturday when the driver lost control of the car – which was carrying five occupants – and ran off the side of the road. The car struck a tree just east of Green Acre Drive near the Lake Arrowhead subdivision, spun around and then struck another tree instantly killing two passengers.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police in Prince William County are taking on new gear that will help them respond to acts of terrorism and major disasters.
Through a grant from The Department of Homeland Security, the police department will accept $212,600 in new tactical equipment. Police officials said they will not disclose what items they will get citing security concerns.
