William R. Murphy, Jr. 66, of Woodbridge, passed away on March 11, 2013 at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sandra Murphy; daughters, Johnni Marie Gibbs (Joseph), Melissa Erin Murphy, and Kristina Lynn Fraley (Eric); grandchildren, Shea Matthew Gibbs, Nolan Alexander Gibbs, Sierra Nicole Murphy, Hallie Ann Fraley, Dakota Elizabeth Fraley, Brayden Jacob Gibbs, David Eric Fraley, and Robert Michael Fraley. He is also survived by his siblings, Karen, James, Alan and Michael Murphy.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm, Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd. Dale City, VA 22193. A Life Celebration service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 13, 2013 at 10:30am, followed by interment at Quantico National Cemetery.

MANASSAS, Va. — A once-removed immigrant from El Salvador and Honduras was arrested in Manassas. He’s wanted in his home country and is charged with kidnapping and with attempted murder.

MANASSAS, Va. — Police said a woman was abducted at a Target store on Sowder Village Square just outside of Manassas on Saturday night. More in an unedited press release.

Abduction | Grand Larceny | Felony Eluding – On March 16th at 11:06PM, police responded to the 9900 block of Sowder Village Sq in Manassas (20109) for a domestic. The victim, an 18 year old woman of Midland, reported to police that she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot of the Target which escalated.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – Flames broke out in the basement of a Dale City home last night.

Firefighters were called to the 13,000 block of Pilgrims Inn Drive, near the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Hoadly Road, at 9:39 p.m. after a two-story home filled with smoke. All of the occupants of the home – seven adults and one infant — made it out safely, said Prince William fire and rescue spokeswoman Kim Hylander.
