MANASSAS — On May 15, the Animal Control Section of the Manassas City Police Department received a complaint for possible animal care issues at Capital City Pups.
Animal Control Officers investigated the business. The investigation revealed numerous puppies were being held in inadequate conditions which violated the care of companion animal code of Virginia.
LAKE RIDGE — Chief Barry Barnard of the Prince William County Police Department will host a “Conversation with the Chief” event on Thursday, June 13.
It will take place at Chinn Park Regional Library located at 13065 Chinn Park Drive in Woodbridge beginning at 7 p.m.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – On June 3, detectives from the Robbery Unit received information regarding people thought to be connected to two separate robberies.
These robberies occurred on June 1 in the Dumfries area of Prince William County.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — Tomorrow marks the start of the 2019 Atlantic Basin Hurricane Season, which runs from June 1 through November 30 annually.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is forecasting a near-normal hurricane season this year.

MANASSAS — The City of Manassas Fire Marshal’s office has finished their arson investigation which led to the arrest of Tammy Burke on May 29.
On May 22, a fire was reported in the 9000 block of Quarry Street in Manassas. The cause of the fire was investigated and determined to be arson. There were no injuries.
STAFFORD — The Abel Lake Boat Ramp reopened on Thursday, May 30 after safety and road improvements were made to the property.
The ramp was reopened following the death of Helen Wang, a Colonial Forge High School student who was hit and killed after a picnic with her friends on her 17th birthday on May 16. She was in her car leaving the Abel Lake Boat Ramp, where she met her friends for an afternoon at the reservoir.
MANASSAS — Glen-Gery, a leading North American brick and stone manufacturer, has announced that its brick manufacturing plant in Manassas will retire from operation on June 14.
The Glen-Gery Masonry Supply Center (MSC) currently located on the site of the plant will continue to operate at the existing location until a new, more convenient location is selected.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY – On Saturday, June 22, The Social Action Committee of Prince William Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta will host an In-Person Virginia Voter Registration Training.
The Social Action Committee will be accompanied by the League of Women Voters and Prince William Office of Elections for this event.
