A message board that reads “Vote #TeamHaymarket” has stirring up debate about what type of campaign signs are allowed in the town.
Haymarket resident Rebecca Smith originally posted a photo of the message board to Facebook, alleging the sign’s presence at the corner of Washington and Jefferson streets is a violation of Haymarket Town Ordinance 58-15.5(h) which prohibits electronic message boards.
She’s gone again.
During the Town Council meeting on Monday, May 4, Susan Edwards sent an email to the Council resigning from her position, just as she did in 2010.
As Governor Ralph Northam moves to reopen Virginia, Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta the town has been largely, and luckily, unaffected by the coronavirus.

In Manassas Park, there are currently 96 cases of the coronavirus with 11 people hospitalized, and two people have died from the disease.

BRISTOW — Nashville singer-songwriter Irene Kelley will be performing a bluegrass concert to benefit the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia’s Jubilee Campaign to build a new monastery.
The concert is on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at Youth for Tomorrow’s Peterson Chapel (11835 Hazel Circle Drive, Bristow).
The 15th annual Autism Walk & Family Funfest will be held on Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stonewall Jackson High School.
The Autism Society of Northern Virginia (ASNV) will try to provide the requested t-shirt sizes for everyone who registers, but the exact size is not guaranteed.
On Sept. 25, a Department of Fire and Rescue crew stopped everything to check on the safety of an elderly woman on the side of the street.
According to Assistant Chief Matt Smolsky, the crew had been clearing an auto accident on Balls Ford Road near Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) when they noticed the woman standing across the street with an oxygen tank.

Construction to improve the Route 3 Business (Kings Highway) and Route 606 (Ferry Road) intersection in Stafford County is nearly complete.
The roads’ all new turn lanes are scheduled to open to traffic by the end of 2019.
