ML: What do you see coming down the pike locally for law enforcement this year?
The restored J-Class 611 steam engine will return to Manassas in June for the annual Railway Heritage Festival.
The 1950’s-era steam locomotive was fully restored and made its debut excursion last summer with several stops around Virginia, including Manassas. Thousands came to the Manassas rail festival to get a glimpse of the train the steamed into town.
1 Million Cups — the group that brings an entrepreneurs to the stage each week to help them solve their challenge questions — turns two this week.
Based on the notion that entrepreneurs network and discover solutions over a million cups of coffee, the all-volunteer group of about 25 to 30 entrepreneurs meet each week at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas at 8:30 a.m. each Wednesday. They drink coffee, network, and swap ideas.

A snow emergency has been declared in Manassas Park.
Starting 6 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, drivers cannot park their vehicles along snow emergency routes.
A walk to end Alzheimer’s Disease toured Manassas neighborhoods and exceeded fundraising goals.

Police arrested a man in connection to a robbery at a TD Bank .
Ben R. Taulbee, Jr., 36, was apprehended in Warsaw, N.C., about 50 miles outside Jacksonville, N.C.
Police identified a man they say robbed a bank in Manassas on Monday.
The robbery walked into a TD Bank at the corner of Sudley and Digges roads at 12:50 p.m. and demanded cash. He made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
Habitat for Humanity Prince William is on a mission to restock the shelves of its restore for the grand opening of its newer, larger location in Manassas.
The non-profit is seeking donations of gently used furniture, appliances, books, cabinetry, windows, hardware, lumber, tools, flooring, lighting, home décor and more. Donors can take a tax deduction for what they give to the charity.
