Police in Manassas are searching for the person who robbed a convenience store in broad daylight.

Clayton Lee Hill was identified as the suspect in a purse-snatching incident at Giant Food store in December. The Manassas City Police were able to identify Hill after a five-week investigation. He is currently in custody, with a pending court date.

Ilka Chavez resigned her seat on the Manassas City School Board last night.
The school board member was first elected to the position in 2012 and was to complete her term in 2016. Chavez said her decision to step down was a personal one that “is in the best interest of her family.”
Police throughout the region are searching for a robber who has hit five stores since October.
The Manassas Fire Marshal’s Office wants to know who burned a car parked in the city’s Georgetown South neighborhood.
The car was set ablaze about 2 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11. It was parked in the 9200 block of Taney Road.

A total of 105 new condominiums will be built on the edge of Manassas City’s historic district.
The City Council on Monday night approved a rezoning request that clears the way for the Manassas Station condo complex on Prince William Street, in front of Osbourn High School. The complex will be 35 units short of what the developer originally proposed to build.
The 69th Annual Greater Manassas Christmas Parade will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday.
The parade will stroll along Route 28 into Old Town Manassas where a reviewing stand is located, at Harris Pavilion.
