Manassas City School Board approved a new LGBT proclamation condemning racism that will ensure students and staff will be treated equally.

On June 23, the Manassas City School Board presented the LGBT proclamation, which has been reviewed and approved annually since 2017, approving the document in a 7-0 vote.


Prince William

Prince William County Government has been allowed to reopen for phase 3 with promises of safety in the buildings, but still promotes teleworking.

Update from Stafford County:

The water main break reported earlier in North Stafford that required water conservation has been repaired. Customers may return to normal usage. Water supplies are back to normal. Stafford thanks everyone for helping the County by conserving water as well as by helping to spread the word through social media. The Fredericksburg Nationals have announced that they will be hosting the FredNats 4th of July Spectacular from their new ballpark this Saturday evening.

The first firework show for the organization will be sponsored by Simventions, Pohanka Nissan, & Hyundai of Fredericksburg, the City of Fredericksburg and they will be paired with patriotic music on Superhits 95.9.

A man who has helped build many foundations and member of many clubs has passed away, yet he is remembered by friends and family today.

Mr. Richard Arlen “Dick” Beamer, husband of Elizabeth “Libba” Hawks Beamer, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Monday, June 22, 2020, at Chapel Hill in North Carolina. Dick was born July 23, 1931, at Mt. Airy, North Carolina, and was the last surviving of seven children born to the late Dorsey Cullen Beamer and Martha Victoria Monday Beamer.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office warns public of a scam after man gathers money to help, what he believed to be, his granddaughter in trouble and gives money to a courier.

A report on this scam occurred on Thursday, June 25, at 2:23 p.m., when a deputy was called to a home in Grafton Village for a complaint of fraud, according to a press release from Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, Layug was told that the resident had received a phone call from a woman claiming to be his granddaughter, according to police.
