Single drivers who travel Interstate 66 inside the Capital Beltway during peak hours will soon pay tolls.
The Commonwealth Transportation Board today approved a measure that allows for the collection of tolls on that stretch of the highway starting in 2017.
The judges decided the best floats and marching groups in the 41st Annual Dumfries Christmas Parade.
There is a new parade route for this year’s Manassas Park Light Parade.
The parade begins at 5:45 p.m. at General’s Ridge Golf Course in Manassas Park. It then winds its way through the city to the Manassas Park Community Center.
Prince William County Public Schools will hold a public meeting at the C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge on Wednesday night.
School officials will talk about the opening of the new “Ferlazzo” elementary school at nearby Spriggs and Minnieville roads.
Prince William police are investigating a robbery at a 7-Eleven store in Woodbridge:
Armed Robbery – On December 7th at 1:00AM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 1701 Featherstone Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that two unknown men entered the business, brandished handguns and demanded money. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the business on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the men who were not located. The investigation continues.

New technology allows Northern Virginia residents the option to skip the vehicle emissions station. But drivers will still pay the same to have their vehicle emissions tested.

The Bone, a popular barbecue restaurant in Manassas, teamed with with Manassas beer maker Heritage Brewery to open a new eatery inside Washington, D.C.’s Verizon Center.
It marks the first collaboration between the beer and barbecue makers.
Prince William County will hold an open house at its Science Accelerator complex outside Manassas.
Officials and doctors will gather on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. to provide insight and an update into the life sciences work ongoing in the center.
The winners of the 70th Annual Greater Manassas Christmas Parade have been announced.
The parade took place Saturday, Dec. 15, 2015 in Downtown Manassas. Ed Asner was the Grand Marshal for the parade.
