From a Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation press release:

The Prince William Environmental Excellence Foundation recently received an environmental stewardship grant of $8,500 from the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation. Funds will be allocated to support a wide variety of environmental science and natural resources conservation programs that are coordinated by the nonprofit organization.

Alonita Vannoy is the Democratic Commissioner of the Revenue candidate in Manassas. 

Following a June firehouse primary where she won her party’s nomination, Vannoy had yet to complete her initial campaign paperwork filing with the city’s General Registrar’s office.


Good morning Prince William – The SERVE campus of Northern Virginia Family Service is in Urgent need of volunteers on Wednesday, June 28th, 2016 from 9AM-1PM and 1-4PM to help warehouse staff take a complete inventory of food and supplies in our 8,000 square foot warehouse. Up to 15 volunteers are needed each shift. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and should be prepared to do moderate lifting. This is a great one-time opportunity which will help the agency to improve its food assistance program to the 650+ households who visit each month for help! From Prince William police: 

“Shooting Investigation – On June 17 at approximately 11:17 pm, officers responded to a residence located in the 12000 block of Cinnamon St in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shooting. Officers arrived at the home and located the victim, a 36-year-old man from Woodbridge, suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body.

Whether or not a proposed $35 million Potomac Nationals baseball stadium goes to a referendum in November comes down to one swing vote.

Coles District Supervisor Marty Nohe will be the deciding factor on Tuesday whether or not voters will have a say in a project, which for which taxpayers mean they would on the hook for an annual $425,000 land lease payment should the baseball team be unable to pay the rent.

A total of $2.5 million has been set aside for the study and planning of a new parking garage at the Manassas Park Virginia Railway Express Station.

The commuter railroad is in the process of completing a study that examines what type of parking garage is needed at the busy station, as well as what type of pedestrian improvements are needed.
