HAYMARKET — Riders on OmniRide commuters buses that travel on Interstate 66 from the Gainesville, Haymarket, and Manassas areas will soon pay half.
The transit agency will launch its new half fare program on May 7 to encourage residents in western Prince William County to take transit as the work on the I-66 E-ZPass Express Lanes ramps up.

Deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect on Monday who was naked and stuck in a fence in the wood line near Anne E. Moncure Elementary School in Stafford County.

Human Trafficking Investigation – On April 22, detectives with the Intel Unit began to investigate reports of a sex trafficking ring in the Manassas area (20109) of Prince William County. The investigation revealed that a victim, an adult woman, was lured to the Northern Virginia region from Florida by a man called “King Diamond” or “Cross County”, later identified as Jovan HIBBERTS. When the victim arrived, she was then turned over to an associate under HIBBERTS’ control, identified as Amber MCMAINS, who facilitated the trafficking of the victim in the Manassas area. On April 23, detectives located and arrested MCMAINS without incident following the execution of a search warrant at a hotel located on Balls Ford Rd in Manassas. HIBBERTS was also subsequently taken into custody in Montgomery County, Maryland, and held on unrelated charges. Additional charges are pending. The investigation continues.
STAFFORD — Authorities charged a Spotsylvania man after a highway pursuit on Monday.
Stafford County deputies saw a car traveling at a high rate of speed on Route 17 in Falmouth at 8:11 p.m. A deputy tried to stop the car, however, the driver fled police and got onto Interstate 95 south.

Fatal Crash Investigation – On May 1 at 7:55AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 9700 block of Brentsville Rd near Sinclair Ln in Manassas (20112) to investigate a single vehicle crash.

May 18 – 20 the City of Manassas and Historic Manassas, Inc. will be hosting an array of talented artists, performers and speakers in the Historic Downtown. This three-day multi-media experience features a juried art competition, more than 50 performers, a film and photography portion, and a speaker series.
Officials with the White House Historical Association toured Stafford County’s Government Island on Monday, along with Scottish Stonemason Charles Jones who is visiting the U.S. for a symposium, “The United Kingdom and Ireland in the White House: A Conversation on Historical Perspectives.” The tour provided Jones a historical reference to Government Island’s quarry history in supplying stone for the White House.

Suspicious Incident – On April 28 at 7:42PM, officers responded to the 4500 block of Forestburg Ln in Triangle (22172) to investigate suspicious pamphlets depicting hate propaganda found on multiple residential lawns in the area.
