Woodbridge, Va. –– A Metropolitan Police officer faces a charge in Prince William County.
Police were called on Sunday to the 2700 block of Brier Pond Circle near Dumfries for a report of shots fired. They arrested one man in connection to the incident, but now there’s word of another arrest in the case.
Woodbridge, Va. –– The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission has appealed to the governor for its own continued existence.
Water service was disrupted last night for about 200 residents in the Old Forge Neighborhood on U.S. 17 in south Stafford.
A water main burst was reported about 8:30 p.m., but crews had the water back on by 10 p.m., said Stafford County spokeswoman Cathy Riddle.
Five to 10 inches of snow could fall across the region tonight and into the overnight hours, making it a rough go for afternoon commuters.
Stafford: The Law Enforcement/Private Property Tow Board meeting scheduled for Thursday January 27 has been canceled due to impending inclement weather. The meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Public Safety Building located at 1225 Courthouse Road, Stafford, Va. 22554.
The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission has instituted its Emergency Service Plan. All bus rides are free.
Woodbridge, Va. –– The lack of commuter parking was one of the hot topics Tuesday night during Woodbridge Supervisor Frank Principi’s first Tele Town Hall meeting.
Service was restored overnight.
“Comcast technicians were immediately alerted to the issue through our internal monitoring systems and were promptly on scene to begin assessing the situation and repairing the damage to the fiber line. As you noted, all services were restored late last night. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused our customers,” stated Comcast spokeswoman Aimee Metrick in an email.
Forecasters say up to five inches of snow could fall beginning Wednesday afternoon into the evening.
Any snow that does fall will follow what could be a mixture of rain or wintry precipitation during the early afternoon hours. (more…)
