SPRINGFIELD, Va. — A Woodbridge man was killed when he apparently lost control of his car.
Police in Springfield were called to the area of Leesville Boulevard and Hinton Street at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday after a 1998 Ford Explorer ran off the side of the road, struck a fire hydrant, and rolled over. Paul Wickwire, 24, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, according to Fairfax County police.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — The first day of summer will bring the heat today as forecasters said it could feel like 102 degrees outside.
A heat advisory goes into effect at noon today until 10 p.m. Thursday Temperatures will approach the 100 degree mark as hot, humid air moves over the region.

The vacation bible school program is developed for students between kindergarten and 6th grade, and takes place at Old Bridge United Methodist Church from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 9 through 13. A light fellowship meal is served from 5:45 to 6:20 p.m.
