FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Politics is a tough profession, but when you’re a candidate without party affiliation – an independent – things can be even tougher.

OCCOQUAN, Va. — It is craft time in Occoquan once more as the town prepares to hold its annual Fall Craft Show.
The show will take place along the small riverside town’s Mill, Union, and Washington streets from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Transportation is a vital component to the daily operations of all three of the Boys & Girls Clubs’ branches in Prince William County. The gentleman who is solely responsible for keeping their buses on the road goes by simply two letters: “ST.”
Sidney “ST” Billingsley is the owner and operator of Steve’s Auto Repair in Woodbridge. The Prince William / Manassas Boys and Girls Clubs first met Billingsley at a meeting of the Woodbridge Rotary Club.

QUANTICO, Va. — The roads in and out of Quantico Marine Corps Base this week may be jammed thanks to the annual Modern Day Marine exposition.
Modern Day Marine takes place Tuesday through Thursday. Quantico officials will be busy shuttling exhibitors on and off the base, and drivers in the area can expect longer than normal delays between 7:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. each day.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — He wasn’t sure the e-mail was real. Without warning, Will Whalen, a local Little League coach, was being asked to gather a team of players and appear at a rally with the president of the United States. He doesn’t get e-mails like that every day. Whalen didn’t know if it was legitimate or not, so he called the number and spoke with Jamie Lockhart, deputy political director with the Virginia campaign for President Barack Obama.
